I know what you're thinking "Why is she talking about Lina and Gourry?" Well I'll tell you why: Because people just don't seem to understand that they truly are meant for each other, whether Lina will admit it or not! Anyway...
Like so many other renowned partnerships, Lina and Gourry's first encounter with each other was less than spectacular, with Lina dreading him being with her and Gourry mistaking her for a little kid. Very shortly after that however, they seem to enjoy the other's company. You would think that after Lina was captured by Zelgadis and his men that Gourry would continue on his way , but no! Instead he makes it a point to search for her, and even though it takes a little while, he finds her in time to save the day! In fact, after that they never leave the other's side (not counting getting seperate rooms at the inns, or Lina wanting to meet the Prince of Seyruun since they adapted the novels for the anime a bit.)
The best evidence for Lina having actual feelings for Gourry are made even clearer when Hellmaster Phibrizo kidnaps Gourry. After that Lina doesn't seem to function very well, having nightmares about Gourry being taken away, and even falling down the stairs! (Refer to the 7th Slayers manga.) And Lina's whole spiel about only following Gourry around for his Sword of Light is just garbage! Unlike the anime when Gourry gives up his sword to save Lina only to have Xellos give it back afterwards, in the novels (which is what the anime is based off of) Gourry gave up the sword and did NOT get it back. Lina even helps him go out and find a new sword, but that's another story...
