Mazokuwing

Chapter 1

Xelloss just sat and stared out the window. He sighed at the memories that he had hated so much. Why did those memories have to return now? Now that he was finally happy? Whenever he had talked about the war of the monsters fall, he left out a huge gap. He hated for the gap to resurface, and since he had met Lina and Filia, the memories had died down, and he could talk more about the war. That isÉwhen he wanted to talk.

Filia peered into his room, her eyes with a slight look of worry on them. He seemed to sense her, and she quickly moved from the doorway. A couple of minutes later, she knocked against the wall.

"Who is it?" Xelloss asked with a blank tone. Filia sighed, 'Why has he changed like this?' she thought. "It's me! Filia!" she called into the room as she peered her head in. Xelloss turned quickly and looked at her with open eyes. "Filia," he quietly responded. "Come in."

Filia nodded and slowly stepped into the room, shutting the door behind her. She walked over to Xelloss, "Xelloss, Val and I are both worried about you. You'reÉdifferent. And you're hiding so much, it's like your hiding from a bad memory."

Xelloss sighed and turned to the window, "That's because it IS a bad memory, Filia. A bad memory resurfacing that I never wanted to bring up again."

"It's resurfacing NOW?"

"Yeah. It's so stupidÉbut it's one of the reasons why I protect you. Maybe the resurfacing is trying to tell me that I shouldn't wipe this memory away."

"Who was she, Xelloss?"

Xelloss hastily turned to her again, staring at her confused face. "Are you sure you want to know?"

Filia pulled a chair up in front of him and sat down, surprised that she was right. "Yes. I want to know, and if you pull any of that 'Sore wa himitsu desu' crap on me, I'll mace it out of you."

Xelloss shook his head, "Fine."

And with that he started the story of Fiona.

(A/N: Okay, this is back in time now. To the time right before the war of the monsters fall.)

The girl was so coldÉshe was losing consciousness. She collapsed to her knees in the cold, her pure white wings emerging from her back and branching out to each side. Then they wrapped around her, trying to keep her warm. But she was still shivering. She really was an Angel, and this wasn't her homeÉnot her place to be. "Who are you?" A voice asked her, and she looked up with blurry vision. The only thing that she could make out was shoulder-length purple hair, peach skin, and black clothes.

"F-Fiona." She forced out, and then fainted cold. The creature bent over and caught her. The angel had fallen into a Mazoku's arms. Into Xelloss's arms.

The angel woke up in a strange room, this still wasn't her home. "Are you all right now? You were knocked out cold and have been unconscious for a week."

She sat up hastily, his presence reaching her. 'Mazoku', she thought. Then turned to him, anger burning in her amber eyes. "You're a Mazoku! I can't believe you brought me here! You brought me to a lair of Mazoku's?!"

Xelloss nodded, "This is Juuou-sama's lair. Or you might know her as Zelas Metalluim." He looked at her and opened his eyes, the fierceness in them piercing Fiona's pure soul.

Fiona's eyes grew wide. "Oh my god! Zelas Metalluim! No! Get me away from here now!" Her wings came from behind her back, and her dark brown hair flew upwards before settling just below her shoulders, where her hair was supposed to be.

Xelloss stood up, "Well, Fiona. I don't think we'll be able to return you for a long time. But you seem like an interesting creature. I would like to know more about you before I tell Zelas about you."

Fiona backed up and sat on the bed once again. She glared at him again. "The first thing you will learn about me is that you and I are enemies."

Xelloss sat down beside her. "Ah yes, so you're good, are you now?"

Fiona looked at him straight in the eye, "Yes I am, Xelloss." Just then her eyes grew wide with shock and she turned away, her hand over her mouth. 'Oh my god, what did I just say? He had never told me his name before, yet I knew it by looking into his eyes!' She turned to Xelloss, who was smirking now. 'Is it his eyes? Or something else?' She got closer to him, her amber eyes now inches away from his purple ones. She then felt a little weaker and fell. He caught her again. 'It can't be his eyes. It's just him, what connection do I have with him?'

Xelloss set her up again, "Connection?" They both stared at each other then.

"You didn't say that out loud, did you?" Xelloss asked Fiona.

Fiona shook her head, "That was my thought. I didn't say it."

"You automatically knew my name?"

Fiona nodded, "And you read my mind."

The breathing of the two was shallow, and soon they would realize the outcome of how scary love could actually be.
