The only thing that Fiona was afraid of was her eldersÉand Xelloss' master. She wasn't afraid of him anymore, her feelings had finally surfaced. When Xelloss walked into the room a few minutes later, he saw Fiona slightly bent over, in thought. 'No wings. This thought must be important.'
Xelloss walked over to Fiona, who looked up to him with a small, silver tear in her eye. Xelloss kneeled and wiped the tear away, "What are you afraid of?"
"The people who would get SOO mad if they found out."
"This is leading somewhere, isn't it?"
Fiona nodded back to him. "I will change my ways. Zelas won't be able to get mad, and neither will the sky elders. Because I won't be an Angel anymore."
Xelloss' mouth dropped open, "Fiona, you can't be serious."
Fiona stared into his eyes, which were now open with worry. "Xelloss, it's the only way. I know what it could result inÉbut I want to do this. So don't worry."
Xelloss nodded back to Fiona and gave her a small kiss on the cheek. "Fine, Juuou-sama will be waiting for you."
Fiona walked up to the doors, and took in a deep breath. "Be careful." A familiar voice told her. She looked over, to see Xelloss standing there, looking away. Fiona tapped him on the shoulder and said, "Don't worry about me. If I can focus, I'll be fine."
Fiona opened the doors and stepped into the room. She made a symbol in her hands, and her wings sprouted behind her. Xelloss followed Fiona into the room. She walked a little more into the shadows, and bowed. "Do you know why I'm here?" she asked, trying to get in as many questions as she could before she gave herself to this Mazoku.
She felt a small nod coming back at her. Then, she felt a voice in her thoughts, for her thoughts only, 'Are you serious? Or should I send you back home so that you can help the rest of the good.'
Fiona shook her head, "I'm serious. Don't send me back, please."
'Fine. Are you clear on what this means?'
"Yes. Xelloss told me everything."
Zelas chanted some sort of word that she couldn't understand, but she figured that this was the spell. And yes, in seconds, the red light had swept across her. Leaving her wings with a coat of black, instead of the sparkling white. Her dress was also different, it was black instead of white with a red circle in the center instead of the usual baby blue.
'The transformation is complete. You may go now, Fiona.'
"Yes, master."
She stood up and turned to Xelloss. "See? I'm fine." Fiona walked over to him. He smirked, "And even prettier then before. Black is better for you then white."
Fiona laughed as they left the room. "I, for some reason, agree."
It had been two months since she had become a Mazoku, and three since she'd first met Xelloss. She was sitting at a table, not knowing what to think about the newest thing that had just come up.
"A war with the dragons? The angels will be helping them! I know it!" Fiona yelled, a choke in her voice.
Xelloss stopped pacing and looked at Fiona, who was trying to hold back tears.
"Damnit! Why am I so worried! Worried about what angels will doÉI'm not an angel anymore!" She looked up at Xelloss, stood up, and slammed her hand on the table. "Tell me Xelloss! Why am I so damn worried about what the angels will do when I'm not one anymore!"
Xelloss walked over to her and leveled his face with hers, opening his eyes so that she would pay attention. "You were BORN an angel, and now ARE a Mazoku. You cannot change the way you were born, Fiona. You can't change that you were an angel, you cannot change them. You can fight them, torture them, KILL them. But you cannot change the past, Fiona. This WILL make you worry from time to time, and it could possibly make you reluctant to fight. But I promise I'll help you if this ever happens."
Fiona nodded, then put her head on his shoulder and began crying. "Yes, we can't change the past, and we can't stop this fight. The war of the monsters fall has already begun."
