Being one of the most beloved characters in Slayers, Xellos is known as "the trickster priest" or "the mysterious priest". After he meets up with the group, he constantly comes and goes as he pleases, but occasionally helps them when it's desperately needed. Most of the time he just gets in their way, though!
Despite his cheerful and kind appearence, Xellos is no ordinary being. He looks human, but he is actually an extremely powerful Mazoku, which is why Zelas Metallium (who he serves in TRY after Phibrizo is destroyed) picked Xellos to be both her priest and her general! In the "War of the Monsters' Fall", Xellos took out hundreds of dragons with just the stroke of his finger in a matter of seconds! That's one powerful Mazoku!
Because of this war, Mazoku and dragons hold grudges against each other; this is no exception for Xellos and Filia, a golden dragon in TRY, for they are always at each others' throats. Although they hate each other with a passion, some people think they make a great couple. He earns the nickname "Raw Garbage" (Japanese: "Namagomi") from her, and he hates it!
